Our vision
The activities of the KemikUm Centre are based on the cooperation between university-school-local environment with the aim of jointly developing innovations, applying them in the teaching and learning chemistry and optimising them based on the evaluation of the activities carried out to contribute to:
- the transfer and successful application of development and research findings in the educational process;
- improve the quality of teaching and learning chemistry according to the needs of school practise, local environment and companies with activities in the field of science;
- promote student’ interest in chemistry and science;
- raise awareness of the role of chemistry and science in society and the importance of sustainable development.
To promote understanding of the importance of effective transfer of scientific knowledge in the field of chemical education into school practice, a scientific monograph entitled »Učitelj raziskovalec na področju poučevanja kemijskih vsebin« (Teacher-researcher in the field of chemical education) was published.
